Stamford Bridge Primary School

Fun, friendship and learning for life

Current learning themes

We plan our themes annually with the children, taking into account their interests and fascinations.  Our teaching team carefully review the learning objectives from the National Curriculum and highlight any skills and concepts that need to be introduced.  All of this information is then collated and the whole staff team create new theme titles, which form the basis of our learning for the coming year.  We invite parents and carers to contribute ideas to our themes, too, including suggestions for visits and visitors.

Art and Design

Across the school, the children have been drawing self-portraits. Each class chose how they were going to be presented - the children really expressed their individuality and showed the amazing art skills they had learned. Some of the portraits were chosen to be sent off to Woldgate School to be displayed there.

Below are some of the fantastic portraits. From left to right, Kangaroo Class (Reception), Owl Class (Year 1), Wolf Class (Year 3), Meerkat Class (Year 4), Dolphin Class (Year 5), Eagle Class (Year 6) and Bear Class (Year 6).
