Stamford Bridge Primary School

Fun, friendship and learning for life

Vibrant village

The Vibrant Village Project has grown in response to some elements of teenage / young adult vandalism in the local area in addition to the enjoyment and fulfillment that pupils experience through helping others. It is therefore clear to our children that we need to respect our locality and value the effort that the local community goes to every day to keep it in excellent condition.

The intended outcomes of the project are to develop greater pride within pupils for their local community that will last throughout their lives. Also, we hope to develop the relationship of school with individuals within the local community and create a love for helping others amongst the pupils.

Project Details

Each class will be responsible for one area of the village. They will visit the site once each half term to see how they can develop it and keep it looking good. This may include linking work to science by looking at local wildlife and trees, weeding beds, litter picking, planting seeds or bulbs or anything else that the class may come up with to celebrate the area.

Classes will be linked in the following ways and will have a key contact for each area:

Classes may get in touch with their key contact to let them know when they plan to visit their site, in case any particular work is required, and afterwards to let them know of their success! This may not always be necessary – but would be a nice gesture!
