Critical Worker/Vulnerable Children - Application Form - Primary Schools - January 2021New News Story
Please
Dear Parents and Carers,
You will be aware, following the announcement by the Prime Minister that all schools in England will close for all pupils from today, with the exception of children of ‘critical workers’ or those who have been assessed under section 17 of the Children Act and have been deemed in need (Critical workers and vulnerable children who can access schools or educational settings - GOV.UK www.gov.uk), have a child protection plan or are looked after, or children with an official Education Health and Care Plan.
Children who are eligible to attend school (according to government guidance) will be following an adapted curriculum in school, as directed by national government, that will include a reduced subject offer and will exclude practical physical education lessons. If your child is eligible and meets the criteria set-out in the previous paragraph, you will need to register a place online, so the school can plan the curriculum, food provision and most importantly, ascertain if your family has been in contact with a Covid-19 case or if a family member is showing any symptoms. We would be grateful if parents who meet this criteria could submit the online form as soon as practicable and prior to your child returning to school. Before your child is able to return to school.
Those who are not eligible to return to attend lessons in school during the national lockdown will be able to access online learning through our MyLearning platform. We would ask for your understanding, as in implementing this national decision by government tonight, we will be remotely teaching at very short notice, as a small local primary in partnership with other schools, over 3000 pupils using our school local broadband connection, hardware and software. Lessons via MyLearning will commence from Wednesday 6th January and will be uploaded with resources, and can be accessed at any time all day or at weekends. Tomorrow individual class teachers will contact parents by email. If you do need additional support, then please contact the class teachers directly, using the email addresses below, rather than contacting the school reception or by trying to elicit responses on social media.
